Friday marks International Orgasm Day, and what better way to mark the occasion than with a survey of 8,000 women from France, the US, Spain, the UK, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, and Germany.
At least that’s what pollsters Ifop have done, on behalf of Cam4.fr – and the results weren’t good news for the French.
France topped the tables in two categories, with 49 percent of the French respondents saying that they “fairly regularly” struggle to orgasm during sex.
This compared with 46 percent of Canadians and Italians. Only 28 percent of Dutch women, meanwhile, have the same problems.
France also topped the charts when it came to faking orgasms, with 31 percent of the French women admitting to “regularly faking” with their current partner. The US came a close second at 29 percent, followed by the Italians and the Brits at 25 percent.
France was also at the bottom of the pile when it came to the regularity of their orgasms, with just 46 percent of its female respondents saying they climaxed at least once weekly. The Dutch topped the charts at 58 percent.
Other stats revealed that 25 percent of French women did not climax during their last sexual encounter, and that 37 percent of the French had sex “at least once a week” over the past few months.
The survey also took a more general look at how easily women could reach an orgasm with different methods, with the graph below providing an easy-to-understand rundown. In short, masturbation was the most functioning response, with anal penetration the least popular at 36 percent.
The survey was carried out in early November, and saw 1,003 French women surveyed.
